John R Hanick of Farmingdale, NJ, passed away peacefully on 4/25/2026. He was living with his daughter in Aiken, SC, where he died. A devoted Dad and Husband, John will be missed by all who knew him.

He is deceased by his parents, John & Mary Hanick, Wife of 63 years, Eileen (Kenny) and son John C Hanick.

Survived by son, David (Yerlis); their sons, David and Sebastian of Farmingdale, NJ; daughter, Jacquelyn (Bob) Anderson of Aiken, SC; and he adored Avery and Bryce Anderson of Forked River, NJ. Sister-in-law Delores Kenny of Edison, NJ, and Helene Kenny of Monroe, NJ. Many nieces and nephews. 

John lived in Perth Amboy, NJ, and graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1954. He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958 at Patrick Air Force Base in Cape Canaveral, FL, with the 6555th Guided Missile Squadron.

In 1959, John married his love, Eileen, whom he met on a blind date, and moved to Fords, NJ, where they raised their 3 children and then moved to Farmingdale, NJ.

John worked at Union Carbide as a Lab Technician before moving to Exxon in Linden, NJ, where he worked as a research technician developing tire rubber.

He loved being on his computer and always learning something new. He was very devoted and cared for his wife for 16 years while she was on dialysis. He was a great provider for his family and wanted only the best for his kids. He loved his Chow-Chows.

Services will be private, with a graveside service.
