John Thomas Brantley, Sr.

AIKEN, SC - Mr. John Brantley Sr. passed away on Sunday January 24^th, 2021. He was the son of the late Raymond E. and Catherine D. Brantley.  He is survived by sons John Brantley Jr. (Lisa) of Jackson, SC, Jason Brantley of Aiken, SC and Kevin Brantley of Summerville, SC.  Brothers Raymond R. Brantley (Shirley) of Piedmont, SC and James L. Brantley (Toni) of Aiken, SC. Grandchildren T.J. Brantley (Madalyn) of Greensboro NC, Ariana Brantley of Aiken, SC and Brady Brantley of Jackson, SC.

He was a graduate of St. Angela Academy, was an Army Veteran who served in the Korean Conflict and retired from Kimberly Clark Corporation.

John’s outlook on life was best captioned by his classmates in his senior yearbook as “To hurry and worry is not my creed, things will happen so what’s the need?”

He was well loved by everyone who knew him and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Rest easy, sir, job well done. 

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1 until 2:30 PM at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at 3 o’clock in Aiken Memorial Gardens with military honors.
