AIKEN, SC - Mr. John William (Bill) Anderson, 71, peacefully passed away at home with family by his side on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
John was born on March 5, 1954, in Aiken, SC to the late Robert Allen Anderson Sr. and the late Marjorie Hall Anderson. He was a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church, attended Aiken High School and served in the United States Air Force. Throughout his lifetime, John held a few different jobs, from the Savannah River Plant to construction and mechanical work to one of his favorites, long-haul truck driving. His most beloved hobby over the years was drag racing. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
John is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Conner Anderson. Daughters Crystal (David) Grady, Cynthia (Martin) Caldwell, both of Union, SC and Lynn Taylor of Aiken, SC. Sons, Stephen and Timothy Taylor, both of Aiken and Cameron Anderson of the home. Eleven grandchildren, Dustin (Kayla) Grady, Devin and Makayla Grady, Makenzie (Storm) Edwards, Sierra (Jacob) Gregory, Bonnie (Zack) Steadman, Cassie and Chloe Steadman all of Union, SC. Lori-Etta, Gadge and Paisley Riley, all of Aiken, SC. Six great-grandchildre, Emberleigh, Ensley and Raiden Gregory, Easton and Memphis Grady and Ridge Edwards, all of Union, SC. Two sisters, Rinda Richardson and Shelia Anderson, both of Aiken, SC. Sister-in-laws, Wanda Lucas and Connie Anderson both of Ga a brother-in-law, Thomas (Jessica) Amerson of Camden, SC. Other survivors include his adopted siblings, Carol (Mike) Patton of Aiken, SC, Tina (Jay) Boatwright of Spring Lake, NC, Michelle (Karl) Sarka and Allen (Stephanie) Anderson, all of Aiken, SC And several special nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to both parents, he was predeceased by his beloved son Homer Allen Anderson, a brother, Robert Allen Anderson Jr. and a great-granddaughter, Angel Paige Gregory.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, at Redds Branch Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM with The Rev. Dr. Brad Willis officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Dustin and Devin Grady, Thomas Richardson, Mike Hooper, Thomas Amerson and Storm Edwards.
