Joan N. Drips

Gilbert, SC – Ms. Joan N. Drips, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Joan was born in Oswego, NY, the daughter of the late Doris Holcomb and John Nagelschmidt, as well as her late sister Donna Nagelschmidt and late brother John Nagelschmidt. She was a hardworking and loyal waitress for most of her life. She loved the ocean, sea glass, dogs, cats, and sitting in her special chair staring at the lake. She was a phenomenal cake baker and made the best macaroni salad. You could often find her chewing gum, eating PB&J’s, and listening to the Eagles or Teddy Pendergrass. She will be remembered fondly and braved her battle with cancer with integrity and fierceness.

Joan is survived by her brother George Nagelschmidt, her daughter, April (John) Eckburg, Gilbert, SC; her son, Shane Drips, Oswego, NY; grandchildren Tessa, Tyler, Scout, and Vanessa; niece Heidi (Bill) Hayden and nephew John Nagelschmidt; her great niece and nephew Emily & Mitchell; and her sister in law Judy Nagelschmidt.

Services will be private.
