Joan Marie Albright

Joan Marie Albright, 75, beloved wife of Melvin Glenn Albright, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 in Aiken Regional Medical Centers.  Born in Toccoa, GA, Joan was a daughter of the late Ira and Minnie Lou Adams Short.  She grew up in Alexandria, VA.  She worked for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon and later was head of the Federal Women’s Association in Mechanicsburg, PA.  She moved to Aiken in 1990 and worked in human resources until she retired.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 55 years, Glenn, include her daughter, Heather Lynn Albright (Jason Albert), Harrisburg, PA; her son, Christopher Heath Albright (Ty Meadows), Sandersville, GA; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 13^th at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (komen.org) .
