JEANETTE McCORMACK PIERCY, 96, beloved wife of the late Clarence Glenwood Piercy, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Trinity on Laurens with her loving family by her side.
A native of Walterboro, SC, Jeanette was a daughter of the late Rev. Clifton and Ethel Collins McCormack. She graduated from Clevenger College of Business Administration in Hickory, NC and made Aiken her home since 1954. After devoting her time to raising her sons, she entered the workforce as a secretary, office assistant and receptionist. Her work included positions at Belk Department Store and with Dr. Suhrer and Drs. Majors and Braun.
Jeanette was known for her delightful sense of humor and exceptional cooking skills, with her macaroni and cheese being a family favorite. Above all, her greatest legacy lies in her devotion as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Dale Piercy (Brenda), Fletcher, NC, Jimmy Piercy (Shanda), Aiken, SC; three grandchildren, Katelin Byars, Austin Piercy, Sarah Grace Salter (Luke) and a great-granddaughter, Eden Joy Salter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mavis Boatwright.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon beginning at 2 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 o’clock with The Revs. Marion Britton and Bill Howard III officiating. Interment will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
