Jean Fenton "Sandy" Honeck

Jean Fenton Honeck, "Sandy”, passed away on October 30, 2026 at her home in Aiken, South Carolina. Sandy was born on April 19, 1929 in Waterbury, Connecticut to Eva L. Fenton and Paul E. Fenton.

In 1947, she graduated from St. Margaret's School in Middlebury, CT and Brown University in Providence, RI in 1951.

After graduation, she resided in Westport, CT; New Canaan, CT; Winston-Salem, NC; Winder, GA; Charlotte, NC and settled in Aiken in 1973. Aiken afforded her the opportunity to continue participating in her love of golf, paddle tennis, and tennis. Later, she pursued her passions of painting, jigsaw puzzles, and bridge. The friendships formed through these hobbies brought her a great source of joy and companionship throughout the years.

Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Henry C. Honeck. She is survived by her sister, Toni F. Tuttle of Naples, Florida; three devoted daughters who reside in Aiken: Paula T. Simmons, Abby T. Zipfel, and Anne T. Laver; stepdaughter, Chris Honeck Riviere; grandchildren, Gordon T. Simmons, Darby A. Kelly, Morgan P. Allen, Sandy M. Roan, Hailey M. Telfer; and six great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Sandy's wonderful caregivers, Geneva, Angela, Queen, and Teruko, for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided. They would also like to express their sincere gratitude to her neighbors, whose friendship, thoughtfulness, and support meant so much to Sandy and her family.

A private service will be held at the St. Thaddeus chapel. We hope you will join us on November 11, 2026 from 3:00 to 5:00 to celebrate her life at the Green Boundary Club.
