Jane Tracy was born Eugenia Elizabeth Kuhne to Frederick and Margaret Gustavison Kuhne on January 31, 1942, in Queens, New York. In 1951 Charles and Mary Gillott Rose adopted her and changed her name to Jane Flora Rose.
In school, Jane enjoyed voice lessons and seriously considered becoming an opera singer. She enlisted in the Navy instead and became a WAVE nurse. It was during this time that she met her first husband, Bob R Davis. They married on January 12, 1962, in San Diego CA.
Their marriage ended in divorce and in 1989 she met her second husband, John Arthur Tracy. John and Jane loved to travel, and they hiked the 14000-foot peaks in Colorado. They will always be remembered as icons of Golden CO where they spent many years boosting the community.
After the death of John and the death of her son, Bob R Davis Jr, Jane moved to Aiken SC to live with her daughter, Susan Davis Faulkner in October 2023. She embraced Aiken as her new home. She enjoyed many activities at the Leslie Price Community Center and various functions of the Trenton Chapter DAR. She made friends quickly and appreciated the community that she built in a short period of time.
In addition to her daughter Susan, Jane is survived by her grandson, Justin Davis, Spring Hill, FL; granddaughter, Natania Cram, Richland, WA; grandson, Maxwell Faulkner, Pasco, WA; nine great grandchildren; step children, Merle Tracy, Denver, CO, Mike Tracy, Crawford, CO, and Lisa Tatman, Okeechobee, FL.
Jane Flora Rose Davis Tracy passed away in Aiken SC on July 15, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2026, followed by a reception, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 100 Cornerstone Dr., Aiken. A private interment will be held in Bethany Cemetery.
