Jami Ann Mackey

Aiken, SC - It is with profound sadness that the family of Jami Ann Mackey announce her passing on August 19, 2021 at the age of 63. Her strong understanding and faith in God brings comfort to her family during this time. Jami was born in Glens Falls, NY a daughter of the late Richard Thomas LaPointe I and Vivian Dora Gauthier LaPointe. A graduate of Glens Falls High School, she later went on to Aiken Technical College for a certificate in Medical coding/billing. Jami primarily worked in the service industry, touching so many lives along the way. She most recently worked at Publix in Aiken, SC for more than 15 years before her retirement. Her friendly personality and charm will be forever missed. Her greatest joy in life came from her children and her grandchildren. The pride and love she had for all her children radiated from her everytime she spoke about them. No achievement was too small and her children were her greatest one. Her grandchildren lit up her life and the endless love and grace she surrounded them with, will be with all of them always. She is survived by her former spouse Gerald Mackey. Her children Andre T. Mackey, Alyssa M. Romano (Adam), Ashley L. Mackey (Lori) and Amber L. Elouan (Brianna). Her loving grandchildren who will forever love and miss their Oma - Claire Mackey - Kendra, Kaydence and Sammy Romano. Her brothers Jeffery LaPointe (Liz) Joel LaPointe (Stephanie) Bruce LaPointe (Debbie) and Paul LaPointe. She is predeceased by her brother Richard T. LaPointe II. She also has many nieces and nephews who will miss her love and laughter. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Millbrook Baptist Church, 223 S Aiken Blvd, Aiken, SC 29803. Graveside service will be private for the family. A Celebration of life will be held November 20th, 2021 at the City of Aiken Municipal Building Conference Center 215 The Alley SW Aiken, SC 29801 from 3pm to 7pm.
