James Earl "Jimmy" Spann

A lifelong Aiken resident, Jimmy was the son of the late Herbert and Ella Mae Spann. He worked in construction for most of his life. He loved working heavy equipment even after he retired. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his daughter Janie Fugi Spann Thomas, son in law Roderick Thomas, brother in law Paul Johnson, mother in law Myra Williams, father in law Cal Williams, Aunt Earnestine Thomas, and a host of other relatives.

 

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Spann; daughters Jamie Spann, Ammie Spann (Ernest), Jenny Spann (Melvin), sons James Paul Spann, Jaden Spann, sisters, Lula Bell Williams, Sylvia Spann, Janice Spann, Dianne Johnson, Betty (Ricky) Wade, brothers, Sonny Washington, Norris Spann, Eugene (Teresa) Spann, Herbert (Elizabeth) Spann, Lafayette Spann, Jasper (Georgia) Byrd, sister in laws, Betty Stallings, Mary Lanham, Peggy (Alvin) Patterson, Myra (Kamal) Ahmed, Linda (Michael) Johnson, Dorothy Williams, Barbara (Jimmy) Perry, Nancy (Phil) Smith, brothers in laws William (Janie Lou) Minor, Cal Williams, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends who will all miss him dearly.
