NEW ELLENTON, SC – Mr. James H. Pless, Jr., 73, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023.
Born in Spartanburg, SC James was the son of the late Lula Gibson and James H. Pless, Sr. After graduating from Aiken High School, James joined the US Air Force. Upon serving his country and returning to New Ellenton, James spent most of his career working for NutraSweet. James loved to golf and did so until his health would not allow it. James was a compassionate caregiver for his parents in their final years and will be remembered as a loving son and brother.
Survivors include his sister, Elaine Mills, New Ellenton, SC; brother, Johnny (Sally) Pless, Glendale, AZ; nieces Dara Chang, Jahna (Manuel) Rubio; nephews, Brian (Annette) Mills and Michael (Jenny) Mills.
A private interment will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church at a later date.
