James Patrick Leonard

JAMES PATRICK LEONARD, 54, beloved husband of Sandra Lynn McMichen Leonard, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his residence.

A native of Rancho Cordova, CA. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and devoted a decade of service to his country. Following his discharge, James moved to Aiken, SC to work at the Savannah River Site. He later became a traveling instructor for WMG, Inc. focusing on hazardous waste transportation. Prior to his time with WMG, James worked for Energy Solutions.

James was an active member of Millbrook Baptist Church. He was also a member of American Legion Post 26.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Sandy; his daughter, Victoria Moore (Andrew), Lexington, SC; his son, Nathan Leonard (Holly), Greenville, SC; granddaughter, Alena Moore: his mother, Jeanette Marie Stowell Leonard, California and 3 brothers, John Leonard, Colorado, Mark Leonard, Nevada and Mike Leonard, California. James is also survived by an uncle, Jerry Stowell in Tennessee.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, June 21st beginning at 2 o’clock at Millbrook Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow with The Rev. Bill Howard III officiating. Interment with Military Honors will conclude in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Leonard, Andrew Moore, Jamie Howell, Wayne Eakins, Mike Low and Charlie Oehlberg. Honorary Pallbearers will be American Legion Post 26. Attendees are respectfully asked to dress casually.
