James "Jim" Langford, Jr.

New Ellenton – Mr. James R. “Jim” Langford, Jr., 91, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Jim was born in Nashville, GA, a son of the late James and Nancy Futch Langford. He was an electrician and retired from E.I. DuPont/Westinghouse after 41 years. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist. He served as a Sunday School teacher at Millbrook Baptist Church and as a volunteer at Christ Central. Additionally, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1950 to 1952. Jim is survived by his sons, James “Jimmy” Langford, III, Atlanta, and Jeffrey (Lisa C.) Langford, Aiken; and a granddaughter, Meredith Langford. He was preceded in death by his wife, Celia Baxley Langford; sisters, Marjorie, Cleo, and Gladys Langford; and brother, Thomas Langford. A Celebration of Life service for Jim will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 5, 2022, in the Millbrook Baptist Church Chapel with the Reverend Bill Howard, III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private interment will be held in Southlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ Central, 3605 Richland Ave. W, Aiken, SC 29801.
