James W. Bailey, Jr.

AIKEN, SC – JAMES W. BAILEY, JR., 78, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Anderson, SC, James was a son of the late James W. and Annie Jewel Tinsley Bailey.  He lived most of his life in Evans, GA before moving to Aiken in 2018.  James was proud of his service in the Navy during Vietnam.  He was a retired high voltage electrical lineman working for several different contractors at Ft. Gordon.  James enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  An avid golfer, he would rather be on the golf course than anywhere else.

Survivors include his son, Randy Bailey (Jacalyn), Aiken; three grandchildren, Randy L. Bailey, Madeleine E. Bailey, Annie J. Bailey; three sisters, Janice Martin, Anderson, SC, Kay Berry (Jimmy), Augusta, Barbara Bailey, Augusta; a brother, Steve Bailey, Augusta and a dear special person in his life, Sheila Farr.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Bailey and Raymond Bailey.

A memorial service will be held Friday evening September 2^nd at 6 o’clock in the chapel of Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.  The Rev. Kenny Murphy will officiate.
