Jack James Leslie Sharpe

AIKEN, SC – JACK JAMES LESLIE SHARPE, 71, beloved husband of Dianna Marie Barrett Sharpe, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. A native of Akron, OH, Jack was a son of the late Gazzie Leonard Sharpe and Thelma O. Long Sharpe. He grew up in Miami, FL. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in Vietnam. He moved to Aiken in 1990 and served as 1st SGT in the South Carolina State Guard. Jack was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was a Gideon. Survivors, in addition to his wife Dianna, include four daughters, Diane Lynn Warden, Aiken, Gayle Elizabeth Sharpe, Waukesha, WI, Samantha Kay Rice (Jo), Augusta, GA, Cathy Lisenbe (Steve), Thomasville, AL; 12 grandchildren, Kelly Hammond, Matthew Hammond, Dakota Warden, Kevin Ray, Dillon Ray, Dominik Woychik, Ashlyn Tessman, Trevor Tessman, Tim Morgan, Jessica Mixon, Taylor Lisenbe, Tori Lisenbe; 7 great-grandchildren, Xavier Logan, J.J. Hammond, Leonard Hammond, Curtis Walker, Kaytence Walker, Zoe Ray, Paisley Ray; s sister, Hulda Anderson (Gene), Windsor, SC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Wayne Sharpe; his former wife, Kathryn Sharpe and his second wife, Cheryl Chambers Sharpe. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, May 27th beginning at 4 o’clock at Corinth Baptist Church in New Ellenton. The funeral service will follow at 5 o’clock with The Revs. Mike Bell and Kirby Bunton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
