AIKEN - Hal Lufburrow Snow, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud American, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Aiken, South Carolina. He was 90 years old.

Born on December 23, 1935, in Tampa, Florida, Hal grew up with a strong sense of duty and commitment that defined his life. He graduated from Melbourne High School and continued his education at Eastern Florida State College. Hal served his country honorably in the United States Army before embarking on a remarkable 40-year career at Kennedy Space Center. His contributions to critical aerospace missions played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s space program. Hal’s exceptional dedication to safety and excellence earned him the prestigious Silver Snoopy Award, a rare honor personally presented by NASA astronauts for outstanding contributions to flight safety and mission success.

Hal is survived by his beloved wife, Joanna P. Snow; his daughter, Anita Diane Russell; his son, Aaron Hal Snow; his granddaughter, Christina Holsomback; his grandsons, Allen Russell and Jonathan Snow; and his great-grandchildren Autumn, Corbyn, Kayden, Steven, and Victoria. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Elizabeth Snow.

Hal’s legacy of integrity, service, and love will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His memory lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to share in his extraordinary life.
