Gene Treadway

July 5, 1950 — January 27, 2022

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC – DOUGLAS E. “GENE” TREADWAY, JR., 71, beloved husband of Linda Porter Treadway, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, January 27, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Union, SC, Gene was a son of the late Douglas E. and Sara Smith Treadway.  He lived in Aiken County most of his life and retired from Bridgestone.  He was a wonderful grandfather, avid fisherman and loved Corvettes and Harley’s.  Gene was a longtime member of Talatha Baptist Church where he formerly taught Sunday School and was a Training Union Leader.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Linda, include five children, Joshua Treadway (Nancy), St. Augustine, FL, Frances Lester (Jamie), Evans, GA, Rebekah Lee (Trent), Graniteville, Duane Feldman, North Augusta, Emilie Wilson (Jimmy), Lake Murray; nine grandchildren, Lauren Lee, Nicholas Lee, Jackson Treadway, Sarah Lester, Brooklyn Lester, Perry Wilson, Presley Wilson, Dalton Feldman, Darius Feldman.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Treadway.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, January 31st from 2 until 3 o’clock at Talatha Baptist Church.  The funeral service will be at 3 o’clock at the church, followed by interment in the church cemetery.  The Rev. Jordan Bird will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Talatha Baptist Church’s Building Fund, 361 Talatha Church Rd., Aiken, SC  29803.
