Mr. Gary Thomas Lloyd, 77, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025

Gary was born in Youngstown, OH, son of the late John and Florence Lloyd. He was a graduate of Youngstown State University, finance and economics and did post-graduate work at Franklin College and Cornell. Gary had a successful career spanning 44 years in the hotel business - finance, operations, senior management and general manager of full service Marriott hotels. Also in real estate business representing hotels as asset manager, portfolio manager and project manager. In his early years he excelled in scouting, reaching Eagle rank. His professional affiliations include: National Association of Accountants, Hospitality Asset Manager Association (past board member), Marriott’s and Hilton’s Owner Advisory Councils. He served in the US Army Reserve from 1971-1977.

He was an avid golfer, a member of the Reserve Club and frequently enjoyed tennis, skiing and coaching basketball. He was particularly proud of his history coaching 5 seasons of 7th and 8th grade boys basketball in East Longmeadow, MA and winning 1 championship before co-founding a local men’s league team in Springfield, MA as a player/coach. A team that would go on to exist for 15+ years, allowing many young men in the area to continue playing competitive basketball for years after their college graduations.

As a golfer he was fortunate enough to play many high-end and memorable golf courses around the world. He also enjoyed the thrill of making two holes-in-one. He took great joy in hearing about his grandchildren’s passions for soccer and drama club, and attended their events whenever he could.

Gary leaves behind Rose Maccio, the love of his life; Tom, a great son; Oliver, Hadley and Raegan, grandchildren he loved; brother Robert and sister Katherine; and sister in laws Julia and MaryAnn; cousins, nephews, and extended love ones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Tricia, and his brother Barry.

Services will be private.
