G. Ashford Milner III, 79, passed away Thursday morning, February 19, 2026, at Silver Bluff Grove Memory Care in Aiken.
A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Ash was the son of the late George Ashford Milner, Jr. and Vivian Gillispie Milner. He was the owner of Milner Super Gas & Trucking.
Golf was one of his passions. Ash played for years at his beloved Palmetto Golf Club. He also spent a lot of his time at the Aiken Tennis Club. He was always surrounded by great friends who loved him dearly.
An outdoorsman at heart, Ash was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being on the water with his family & friends, at Lake Murray and in Beaufort, as well as in Charleston,SC, where he was a member of the Carolina Yacht Club.
He attended the University of South Carolina, where he was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
He was active in the South Carolina Trucking Association and the Rotary Club of Aiken.
Survivors include his two sons, G. Ash Milner IV (Cher Coker) of Beaufort, SC, and Morgan C. Milner of Aiken; and his sister, Kathryn Sarratt Milner, as well as many cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Gillespie Milner.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 10, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, with interment to follow in the churchyard. A reception will follow in the Stevenson–McClelland Parish House.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – South Carolina Chapter (Alzheimer’s.org) or Aiken FOTAS (fotasaiken.org) .
The family extends sincere thanks to the caregivers at Silver Bluff Grove and Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care Ash received during the past year.
Ash lived a Big Beautiful life!
