AIKEN, SC – Mr. Franklin Jay Wren, 59, passed away Sunday May 28, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Unity Holiness Church, 1615 Edgefield Hwy., Aiken, SC 29801 with the Rev. Robbie Sharpe officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 10:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Jerry McCarty, Roger Godwin, Junior Snipes, Ernest Buff, Samuel Langley and Randall Pederson. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, 2235 Washington Rd., Thomson, GA 30824. Mr. Wren was born in Jefferson County, GA to the late Walter Jefferson Wren and Margaret Norton English of Aiken. He spent his career working as a welder. Mr. Wren enjoyed helping his mother and will be remembered as someone who loved people and people loved him. In addition to his mother, Mr. Wren is survived by a brother, Paul D. Wren of Wrens, GA.
