Fletcher "Tim" Friar

August 18, 1950 — February 23, 2024

GRANITEVILLE, SC - Mr. Fletcher Timmerman "Tim" Friar, 73, beloved husband for 52 years to Cynthia "Cindy" Friar, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was the son of the late Charles Edward Friar, Sr., and Grace Helen Timmerman Friar.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Allison Friar Dorn and her husband Russ, his son Jared Timmerman Friar and his wife Jennifer, his grandchildren, Branson Timmerman Friar and Bailynn Malone Friar, who were his pride and joy, his step-grandson, Jacob Dorn, his brothers Charles Edward Friar, Jr., "Eddie" and his wife, Dena, and Thomas Glenn Friar and his wife, Deb.

Tim retired from Graniteville Specialty Fabrics where he was a boiler operator and had previously worked for Avondale Mills as superintendent of Stevens Steam Plant when the plant closed as a result of the Graniteville train wreck.

Tim enjoyed classic cars, cooking, spending time with his grandchildren and gardening, but the best garden he grew was the family he and Cindy created, which he loved dearly.

The Family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their help and support during his final days,  and all the friends and family who have shown love and kindness during this difficult time.   They will receive friends and visitors on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, at Shellhouse Funeral Home on Hayne Avenue.  Interment will be private.
