Everett Wallace Rabon, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 28, 2026, at his home in Aiken, SC, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 14, 1931, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, Everett's career began in 1951 when he joined Dupont at the Savannah River Plant. Demonstrating a pursuit of knowledge and excellence, he left to attend the College of Charleston and pursued a B.S. in Biology. He returned to Aiken in 1961 with his family and began work as a biologist for DuPont, contributing significantly to his field until his retirement in 1987.
Everett was a longtime member of MiIlbrook Baptist Church, actively participating in the choir and offering his talents to the Millbrook Whittlers and the Rose Garden committee. These pursuits exemplified his caring nature and his desire to enrich the lives of those around him.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a Certified Master Gardener whose skill and patience were well respected. Everett participated in Toastmasters of America, where he honed his communication and leadership abilities.
Everett’s family was a central pillar in his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gerry Overman Rabon; his sons, Wallace Rabon (Darlene) and Rod Rabon (Paige), all of Aiken; his grandchildren, Stephen Rabon (Morgan), Michelle Rabon, George Rabon (Lydia), Elizabeth Lindroth (Ben), William Rabon (Bailie), Charles Rabon (Ashley), James Rabon (Rose), Andrew Rabon (Abigail), Phillip Bossler (Leslie), and April Coffman; as well as his great-grandchildren, Lynwood Rabon, Isabella Lindroth, Anabella Lindroth, Annabel Rabon, George Peter Rabon, Elliott Rabon, Georgia Rabon, and Ayden Coffman. Also surviving are his step-children, Richard Overman (Susan) of Aiken, Rhonda Overman of Vanceboro, NC and Monica Wilson (Scott) of New Bern, NC.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 31, 2026, beginning at 1 o'clock at Millbrook Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 o'clock with The Rev. Bill Howard III officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
