Evelyn Elizabeth Lever

KATY, TX - Evelyn Elizabeth Lever was born on May 10, 1929, in Athens, Georgia. She passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Katy, Texas. Evelyn lived a life dedicated to education and faith. For 25 years, she was an elementary school teacher, touching the lives of many young students. Throughout her life, she remained a faithful servant to the Lord.

Evelyn spent much of her adult life residing in Aiken, South Carolina. In the last seven years of her life, she lived in Houston, Texas. Her dedication to family and faith was evident in all she did.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Rebecca E Lever of Houston, Texas; her sister, Freddie Tezak of Hoover, Alabama; her granddaughter, Michelle Ford of Aiken, South Carolina; her grandson, Michael Lever of Aiken, South Carolina; and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred W. Orr; her mother, Ann Orr; her brother, Charles Orr; her husband, Sam Lever; and her infant sons Robert Lever and Stanley Lever.

A graveside service will be held on May 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM in Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, Georgia, 30904, with the Rev. Bill Howard III officiating.
