Eva Smalley Burke

Mrs. Eva Smalley Burke, 88, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2022, at Trinity on Laurens in Aiken. She was predeceased by her loving husband David M. Burke. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 15 at Historic Bethany Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Gilpin officiating. Mrs. Burke was born in Aiken, S.C. to the late Robert C. Smalley and Emmie W. Smalley. She retired from the State after a career at the Aiken County Health Department. She was most proud of her three children and three grandsons and was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Maura (Daniel) Johnson, Roswell, GA, sons; Mathes M. ( Dorothea ) Burke, II, San Diego, CA and James K. Burke, Charlotte, NC.; grandchildren, Mathes M.(Sierra) Burke, III, Andrew M. Burke, and Charles Ellis Burke, and sisters Patricia Fulmer, Aiken, SC, and Emmie Hazle, Anderson, SC. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army of Aiken Food Pantry, P.O.
