AIKEN, SC - BMCM DUANE RICHARD JOHNSON, USN Ret., 77, beloved husband of Maria R. Johnson, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at his home in Cedar Creek surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Niagra Falls, NY, Duane was a son of the late Roy and Gladys Johnson. He joined the Navy when he was 17 years old and retired as Command Master Chief after a 31 year career. He lived in Norfolk, VA for 44 years before moving to Aiken in 2019.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Maria, include his daughter, Elizabeth Cuthrell (Aubrey) and a grandson, Perry Duane Cuthrell, all of Aiken.
A graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon, November 11th at 1 o’clock in Southlawn Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
