Dr. Frederick Martin St. John James

Frederick Martin St. John James, M.D., 66, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 24, 2026.

Dr. James was born in Greer, SC, son of Marshall Orr James and Winifred Wills James. He practiced emergency and family medicine in several locations over the course of 39 years, including Aiken, Camden, Augusta, and Williston.

Dr. James is survived by his beloved wife, Dee Strange James; children, Libby James, Hunter (Chandler) James, and Griffith James.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church upon completion of the renovations to the church, with the Reverend Marshall Jolly and the Reverend Joseph Whitehurst officiating. The date will be shared as soon as it is confirmed with the church. A reception will follow in the Stephenson-McClelland Building.
