NEW ELLENTON, SC – DAVID ELLIS WATKINS, 61, beloved husband of Jennifer Dixon Watkins, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Dalton, GA, David was a son of the late Henry Lloyd and Carolyn Stroud Watkins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. David moved to New Ellenton in 2011 from Blue Ridge, GA. He worked as a relief manager for Waffle House in the Aiken area. He was a licensed minister. David was a member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church and attended Fountain of Life Fellowship. He volunteered with the Strike Out Hunger Program at Fountain of Life Fellowship where he led devotions.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Jennifer, are his son, Christopher Lloyd Watkins (Laura Lashley), Canton, GA; step-sons, John David Crawford (Kerry), Marietta, GA, Jason Daniel Crawford, Canton, GA, Grant Murphy Ensley, Alamo, GA; grandson, Donovan Christopher Watkins; step-grandchildren, Clare Marie Crawford, Levi Brian Crawford, Owen Gabriel Crawford.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister Sheila Darlene Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
