David Hawver passed away suddenly Saturday, July 11, 2026 in Greenville SC.
Born in Binghamton, New York on January 16, 1961. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1984, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree,in Electrical Engineering.
David and his loving wife Frances moved to the Aiken area in 1984 where he accepted a job at the Savannah River Site. After retirement Dave enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Dave also enjoyed traveling with his wife and family members. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
David’s greatest legacy is his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Frances Zappia Hawver. He leaves behind his daughter, Elizabeth Johnson and her husband Clinton of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his adoring grandchildren, Christopher Johnson and Lindsey Johnson; a sister, Lucinda; and two brothers, Kevin Hawver (Liz) and Bruce Hawver (Michelle).
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Becker Hawver and Janet Conklin Hawver; a son, Carleton William and a sister Denise Moyse (George)
The family plans to celebrate David’s life at a later time, ensuring that his story is honored in the company of those he cherished.
