Dave Stewart Robinson, Jr., 78, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026.

Dave was born in Newport, TN, son of the late Dave Stewart Robinson, Sr. and Ilie Mae West Robinson. Dave was a passionate golfer in his local community and played on the Aiken High School team as well as USC Aiken Golf team. Pretty close to a scratch golfer! He traveled extensively and played St. Andrews on one of his more memorable trips. He loved going to the Masters and told Gary Player he needed to keep his head down when he putted. To his credit, Gary smiled and nodded.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Mathematics, Dave continued his education, earning associate degrees in business management and criminal justice. He joined the Navy in 1970 and served as an officer (LTJG) aboard the USS Caiman, one of the last diesel submarines. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1972.

Dave met his wife, Martha, at church in San Diego, CA, where he was based. He arrived in his Navy dress whites, driving a British Racing Green convertible Porsche 914, and she didn’t stand a chance. The rest is history.

Dave was a Vice President of IT and retired from Southeastern Freight Lines after 30 years, where he not only built a successful career, but made lifelong friends.

He loved so much and was loved by many. He loved golf and grilling steaks on his Big Green Egg. He loved to grow vegetables in his garden and build big fires in the wood stove in the winter. He loved swimming with his family in the pool and in the lake. He coached 3rd base of his daughter’s softball team where his loving advice was to tell her to get her butt behind it.

He and his wife moved to Seattle in 2017 to be closer to their children. He enjoyed boating and sailing on Puget Sound outside Seattle. He was a member of Mt. Si golf course and the Fairweather golfers. Even after all these years, Dave could dock a twin-screw boat on a dime. He loved traveling with his family, especially his granddaughter, Emma, over the last several years and was always up for an adventure. In 2020 they returned to Aiken, SC with their daughter, Cae, and her family. He loved being around the family again.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Sue Craven Robinson; daughter, Catherine (Robert) Morgan, Aiken; son, Rhett (Melissa) Robinson, Kirkland, WA; granddaughter, Emily ‘Emma’ Morgan; brothers, James Randolph ”Randy” (Lorie) Robinson, Aiken, and Daniel Charles “Danny” (Deborah) Robinson, Vero Beach, FL.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 3, 2026, in the Millbrook Baptist Church Chapel. Interment, with US Navy honors, will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The service will be livestreamed at https://iframe.dacast.com/b/156599/c/585055
