Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Gerner

CYNTHIA (CINDY) ANN GERNER, 73, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 in Aiken, South Carolina. 

     A native of Trenton, NJ, Cindy was a daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Henrietta Barbara Wozniak Funk. Cindy was a preschool teacher who loved to use her creativity to serve students. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Hamilton, NJ for over 30 years and was currently a member of Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. She was a dedicated servant of Christ and lived for Him boldly. 

     Survivors include her daughter, Denise Ashley (Ryan); two sons, James Gerner (Carla), Keith Gerner (Amy); brothers, Ronald Funk (Carol), Edward Funk (Cecilia), Daniel Funk, Eugene Reid (Susan); sisters, Diane Ireland, Marcia Ponicsan, Joanne McDonald; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gerner, and her son, Jerry Gerner.  

     A memorial service will be held Thursday evening, April 13^th at 6 o’clock in the Millbrook Chapel with The Revs. Dr. Stephen Cannon and Bill Howard III officiating. The service will be livestreamed at https://iframe.dacast.com/b/156599/c/585055 .

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Millbrook Baptist Church to continue the mission that she was so deeply committed to.
