Charles Peter Reeve

Mr. Charles Peter Reeve, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Julie Catherine (Dan) VanderPloeg, Basin, WY; his son, Jeffrey Wells (Kari) Reeve, Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Nathan Reeve, Griffin Reeve, Gabriel VanderPloeg, Corrie VanderPloeg, and Xavier VanderPloeg; sister, Anne (Carl) Fowler, Kennesaw, GA; and two brothers, Robin Reeve, Kirby, VT, and Chris (Pam) Reeve, Winchester, MA.

He is preceded in death by a son, Timothy David Reeve; his wife of nearly 47 years, Teresa Wells Reeve; a brother, Richard Keith Reeve; and his parents Charles Philip Reeve and Ruth Keith Reeve.

Born in Dalton GA, Charles lived in Gaithersburg, MD for 21 years working for the National Bureau of Standards (later, NIST) as a statistician before moving to Aiken in 1990 to work for the Savannah River Site in a similar capacity. Charles enjoyed many hobbies, including playing golf, playing chess and creative writing. In his retirement years he began to play trumpet and was a member of the USCA New Horizons concert band. Charles was a lifetime sports fan, particularly of college football and baseball.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Saturday October 18, 2025 with a memorial service following at 11 am. The family will receive friends immediately following the service as well.
