Charles Thomas “Tom” Cumbee, Sr., entered into rest Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, PA.
Born in Aiken County, SC, Mr. Cumbee was a son of the late Charles McKinley and Margaret Gullifer Cumbee. He graduated from Ridge Spring-Monetta High School and attended USCA. He was a businessman in the automotive field for over 50 years.
Tom was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cameron, SC and attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effort, PA. He was an avid reader, especially history of the Civil War and World War II. He was a huge sports fan, particularly football and baseball. His teams were the USC Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves. He loved traveling and restoring old cars.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cumbee was preceded in death by his sons, Charles Thomas (Tee Jay) Cumbee, Jr., and Brian Keith Cumbee; his sister, Margaret Wicker; and brother, James D. Cumbee.
He is survived by his beloved Lois Nichols of 13 years, Gilbert, PA; a daughter, Kaitlyn; sister, Elizabeth Cumbee, Grovetown, GA; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 3, 2025, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 8160 Old State Rd., Cameron, SC 29030, with Pastor Eric Little and Pastor Wayne Young officiating. Interment will be held at 3:30 PM in the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery, 1186 Mt. Calvary Church Rd., Johnson, SC.
