Catherine Beisaw Stahura

CATHERINE BEISAW STAHURA, 60, passed away February 27, 2026.

Born in Wilton, Maine, January 29, 1966, Cathy was the seventh of ten children born to Edgar and Anne Yeaton Beisaw. She earned an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Maine. She furthered her studies and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii, followed by a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from Walden University. In addition to her academic pursuits, she trained in Pilates in Atlanta and New York City under the renowned Romana Kryzanowska, a protégé of Joseph Pilates. Cathy shared her passion for health and fitness by operating a Pilates studio in Aiken from 2003 to 2009. She was an avid tennis player, a devoted mother and loyal friend. She loved photography, the beach life and spending time with friends. She was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. She had a storied backstage career volunteering with the Aiken Kidney Benefit. She kept her colleagues laughing and entertained with her antics, humor and wit.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Douglas A. Stahura of Aiken, SC; her daughter, Makenzie Stahura of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Anne Beisaw of Wilton, ME; her father, Edgar Beisaw of Farmington, ME; and her siblings, Rhonda, David, Dennis, Kevin, Jeff, Mary, Robert, Alan, and Michelle.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning April 15th beginning at 10:30 AM at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home.  A memorial service will follow at 11:30 at the funeral home.
