Carol Annette Park

Carol Annette Park, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at her home, the home of her daughter and son in law in Aiken, SC.

Carol was born in Fremont, OH, daughter of the late Wilbur J. Koch and Mildred Besanceney Koch. Carol was a registered nurse by trade but a stay-at-home mom by profession and love. Her nursing career started with training at Mercy College of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio and culminated at Bethesda Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Fremont, Ohio. Upon retirement, Carol returned to Aiken, SC to be close to as many of her children as she could. She was a devout member of St Mary’s Help of Christian Catholic Church in Aiken, SC. Carol loved to read throughout her life. She also took up knitting and crocheting for as long as her arthritis would allow. Her family enjoys and cherishes much of her work. She was well loved by everyone she met due to the warm, personality which she shared freely. When it came to her family, she would draw the line—mamma bear would be on full display. Her life was full raising her children, and she would remind anyone who asked.

Carol is survived by her children: Roseanne(Andy) Redd of Aiken, Michael(Debbie)Park of Ranson,WV, Joe(Trici)Park of Aiken, David(Juanita)Park of Aiken; six grandchildren: Vicki Mitchell, Josh(Kindra)Redd, Carolyn Park, Anna Park, Lauren(fiancé Aaron Kearns)Park, and Landon Park: two great granddaughters; Rainey Kate Mitchell and Reagen Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Alvin Park, infant son Christopher James Park, son Matthew Gerard Park, and eldest son(missing, presumed deceased) Steven Anthony Park. She was also preceded by her younger brother, Lawrence Lee Koch, who she adored, and he adored her back.
