CAROL “KAY” BELK MARBERT, 84, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 in Anchor Post Acute Care.
Born in Marion, SC, Kay grew up in Dillon, SC. She was a daughter of the late Walter Ewing Belk and Elise Gasque Cain. A graduate of Winthrop College, Kay dedicated her life to the service of others as a social worker with the South Carolina Department of Social Services.
Kay was an active member of Town Creek Baptist Church until her health would not allow it any longer. At Town Creek, she sang in the choir and was a GA’s director. Kay was a long standing member of Beta Epsilon Phi Sorority, and was also a den mother during her sons’ time in scouting.
Survivors include three sons, Marcus Marbert (Matt), Charleston, SC, Michael Marbert (Joanie), Aiken, and Stephen Marbert (Kathy), Aiken. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Josh Marbert, Bekah Beckman (Mason), Katelyn Marbert, Chaela Johnson (Aaron), Abbie Gibson (Cody), Luke Marbert, and a great-grandson, Charlie Beckman. Additionally, she is survived by four siblings, Walter Belk (Jan), Goldsboro, NC, Haynes Cain (Gail), Bennettsville, SC, Edna Elliott (Curt), Columbia, SC and Carol Spinazzola (Mark), Florence.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at Town Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 o’clock with The Rev. Clint Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
