Camilla Swanner Owens

Aiken – Mrs. Camilla Swanner Owens, 81, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021. Camilla was born in Aiken and was a lifelong resident of Aiken, daughter of the late Thomas Curtis and Mary Crenshaw Swanner. She worked for Southern Bell, AT&T, Gorham Bronze and Feldspar Products. She was a longtime member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, and had been attending Peace Lutheran Church of Aiken most recently. She is survived by her son, Michael Eric (Christy) Owens, Aiken; grandchildren, Michael Colin Owens, Sophie Madeline Alice Owens, Brittany Taylor (Jose) Ortega, Rebecca Lynn (Konstantin) Kuznetsov great grandchildren Carson Anderson Rienzo, Mia Grace Ortega; sisters, Charlotte Hendrix, Milledgeville, GA, Gale (Joe) Bledsoe, Johnston, SC, Ann Morgan, Punta Gorda, FL, Libby (Bob) Schmidt, Loganville, GA, and Frieda Cosgriff, Lawrenceville, GA; sister in law Joanie Swanner, nephews and nieces Bunnie (Rick) Lockhart, Keith (Linda) Bledsoe, Angie (Darren) McCreery, Ryan (Amy) Schmidt, Nicki (John) Harris, Becky (Brian) Lindstrom, Darin Morgan, Susan (Chris) Roszowick, Jeff Morgan, Jeff (Hege) Swanner, Michael Cosgriff, Mathew Cosgriff, Tyler Bledsoe, Zach Lochart, Hannah Jackson She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael D. Owens, and brothers, John and Jim Swanner and nephew Chris Swanner. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Friday, September 17, 2021, and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at SHELLHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 924 HAYNE AVE., AIKEN, SC with the Rev. Jonathan Bourman and the Rev. Kenny Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Bethany Cemetery.
