Beverly Elizabeth Brandon Knapp

May 8, 1959 — September 20, 2023

Conyers, GA

Beverly Elizabeth Brandon Knapp graduated to the communion of Saints on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Beverly was born in Spartanburg, SC on May 8, 1959. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Ann Driver Brandon. She is survived by her father, James Howard Brandon; her brothers, Andrew Howard Brandon, Marietta, GA and Dr. James Michael Brandon (Joy), McDonough, GA; her children, Emily Knapp, San Antonio, TX (Jim Book), Abigail Knapp Coggins (Thomas), Charleston, SC, and Hannah Knapp, Phoenix, AZ; her grandchildren, Aiken Brandon Knapp, and his twin sisters, Sutton Amelia Coggins and Maisie James Coggins.

Beverly moved with her family from Greenville, SC to DeKalb County, GA when she was seven years old. She attended DeKalb County schools graduating from South West DeKalb High School in 1978. While at SW DeKalb Beverly was active in various social and academic clubs. She was also a member of The Girls of Gold, the flag corp of the championship Marching Panther band. She was on hand when the SW football team won the GA State championship. Beverly was a good student, particularly in math. After graduation she attended The University of Georgia.

When she left UGA she became involved in a number of jobs and enterprises. She traveled to Miami with a life-long friend and became involved in a cosmetic manufacturing process. She returned to Atlanta and was employed by a well-known real estate firm, first in administrative work and later in sales. She left that and was employed by a country club community in marketing.

After her marriage and her children were older she became sales agent and customer mortgage advisor for a housing development that her husband and father-in-law were developing. That continued for a few years. When that enterprise failed she worked at different jobs around Douglasville where she was living at the time.

Beverly later moved to Phoenix, AZ to be near her children who had relocated with their father. She worked in on-line sales and call center customer service. While in Phoenix Beverly was involved in a near fatal automobile accident and spent months in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. She sustained injuries that she carried the rest of her life. After remaining in Phoenix for a while, she moved back to Conyers. She worked in retail sales for a while but when the first Hyundai automobile dealership opened in Conyers she was hired as a sales person. It seemed she had found her calling and set sales records at that dealership. She left there to join another dealership. An accident aggravated her past injuries and that led to the other medical complications including cancer. Surgery and chemo corrected that but a long history of rehab and hospital stays with other illnesses became a real complication in her life. She was declared disabled and unable to work and moved home to live with her parents. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year to which she succumbed.

A private service will be held at the columbarium in Bethany Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her mother.
