AIKEN, SC - Betty Beatty Counts of Aiken died on Friday, September 24, 2021. Betty was born the daughter of Lt Col Griffin R and Daisy B Beatty in Boise, ID. After living in various cities in the US and Germany, she graduated from A L Miller High School IN Macon, GA. She attended Wake Forest University and USC-Aiken. She lived in the Aiken area for over 30 years and retired from the Savannah River Site. She was a member of St Thaddeus Episcopal Church, Daughters of the King and was a Stephen Minister and a member of a Discipleship Group, Cursillo Reunion Group and enjoyed serving her church and community. Her life reflected her love for Christ, her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, George W Counts and survived by son Matthew Weaver and daughter Cile Cormier (Marshall) both of San Marcos, TX, brother Rhyne (Julie) Beatty of Tiburon, CA, grandchild Tommy Cormier of San Marcos, TX and stepson Randy (Cherry) Counts of Greenville, SC. In lieu of flowers, and if so desired, memorial contributions may be made to St Thaddeus Episcopal Church, 125 Pendleton Street NW, Aiken, SC 29801. A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
