AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Betty Hayes Seigler, 88, of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away peacefully Saturday night at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness with cancer.
Mrs. Seigler was born March 3, 1931, in Clanton, Alabama, and graduated from West End High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Mrs. Seigler retired from E.I. DuPont and Westinghouse, Savannah River Site, after 40 plus years of service. She was a member of Whittenberg Lutheran Church in Leesville, S.C.
Mrs. Seigler was the wife of the late Harold Seigler of Aiken, S. C. She was preceded in death by her parents Luther Hayes and Verbie Hayes of Barnwell, S.C. and sister and brother-in-law Dorothy Clark and Jack Clark of Aiken, S.C.
Mrs. Seigler is survived by her brother, Bob (Claudia) Hayes of Aiken, S.C.; sister, Sue (W.C.) Black, Barnwell, S.C.; nephews, Rusty (Candy) Hayes, Lexington, S. C.; Randy Hayes of Aiken, S.C. and Marc (Angela) Black of Barnwell, S.C. and niece, Sherry (Donald) Pressley of Spotsylvania, Virginia.
Visitation for Mrs. Seigler will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Shellhouse Funeral Home on Hayne Ave, Aiken, S.C. with graveside service at Sunset Memory Gardens at 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
The family wishes to extend special gratitude and love to the staff and nurses of Alliance Hospice and Professional Case Management for the professional care and love shown to Betty during her illness.
