Barbara Jean Rhoad

AIKEN, SC – BARBARA JEAN KITCHINGS RHOAD, 87, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 5, 2022, in Aiken Regional Medical Centers from complications of Covid-19.

     A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Barbara was a daughter of the late Marvin and Wilmer Garvin Kitchings.  She was first married to the late John Bonner and was also the widow of Harold Rhoad.  Barbara began playing piano in church at age 10 and played in churches across Aiken County until she was 80.  Most recently at St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Ellenton.  She was a member of Bethcar Baptist Church.

     She was survived by her daughter, Sherri Bonner for 11 days until her passing, February 16, 2022.  Surviving are cousins.

     The funeral service will be Saturday afternoon, February 19^th at 1:30 PM at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Revs. David Newton and Chris Addy officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Bethcar Baptist Church, 950 Bethcar Church Rd, Wagener, SC 29164.
