Barbara Ann Bentley

AIKEN, SC – BARBARA ANN WHITTLE BENTLEY, 85, beloved wife of Charles Edward Bentley, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at her residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Barbara was a daughter of the late Jones C. and Rosa Ola Garvin Whittle.  She was a true lady who loved God and family and will be deeply missed as the matriarch of her family.  Barbara was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church

Survivors, in addition to her husband Charles, include nine children, Judi Tindall (Jerry), Jeanie Griffin, Debbie Nix (Harry), Vickie Buff (Larry), Ray Bentley (Sherry), Tina Bell (Eddie), Peggy Thacker, Tammy Bentley, Eddie Bentley (Erin); brother, Charles Whittle; sister, Betty Smalley; sister-in-law, Betty Snipes; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, November 9^th beginning at noon at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 1 o’clock with The Rev. Dr. Chris Masters officiating.  Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jeremy Tindall, Jesse Nix, Joseph Nix, Justin Bell, Austin Bentley and Charlie Thacker.
