MICHAEL ANDREW LAWRENCE BURROW, 62, beloved husband of Julie Moore Burrow, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in Wellstar MCG Medical Center, Augusta, GA.
A native of Oudtshoorn, South Africa, Andrew was a son of the late David Hardwick Burrow and Elizabeth Angela Gillibrand Burrow. He moved to the United States in 1984 when he was recruited to play tennis at the University of Miami. Andrew earned All American honors 1984-1987 and was the NCAA Singles Champion in 1987. During this time, he competed in the U.S. Open and had the opportunity to play at Wimbledon. He was inducted into The University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame, The Intercollegiate Tennis Hall of Fame, the ITA National Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame and The Blue Gray Hall of Fame.
Andrew previously served as tennis director at Montgomery Country Club, The Landings in Savannah, GA and taught at the Midtown Athletic Club in Atlanta. For the past 11 years he has served as the Tennis Professional at The Reserve Club in Aiken, SC.
Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Julie Moore Burrow; his daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Bonovitch (Patrick Daniel); his son, Elliott David Burrow (Bailey Guffin); stepbrothers Andrew G. Harris (Tiffany), John Robert Bradwell, Jr. (Jadison), and Catherine Annabelle Bradwell; and adoring grandchildren Mary Katherine Bonovitch, Cooper Daniel Bonovitch, Chapman Reid Bonovitch, and Rhett Lee Burrow. He is also remembered fondly by his sister, Patricia Anne Bailey (John) in South Africa, as well as his three nephews, Michael Thomas Bailey, Peter John Bailey, and Nicholas David Bailey.
A Celebration of Andrew’s Life is being planned for Saturday afternoon, March 28th at 2 o’clock at The Reserve Club.
