Mr. Alexander John Love, 76, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017. Mr. Love was born in Muirkirk, Scotland to the late Alexander and Isabella Love. His family immigrated to Canada when he was 9 years old, eventually immigrating to America when he was 17. He became an American citizen at the age of 21 and went on to become a very successful businessman in his new country. He retired from his position as Executive Vice President of Sales at Hane’s Brands, Inc., L’eggs Division in 1999. He and his wife Char lived 12 years in Naples, FL and have made Aiken, SC their home for the last five years. He enjoyed volunteering and fundraising with Habitat for Humanity, through Marco Island Lutheran Church, while living in Naples, FL. He enjoyed hiking in nature, golfing with his golf group “The Love Connection” and with other friends and family and, he enjoyed travel. His real joy in life has been adventures and time spent with kids and grandkids. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlys Porter Love, three daughters; Lori Love, Longwood, FL, Debra (Mark) Smith, Safety Harbor, FL, Amy Love, Safety Harbor, FL, one son; John (Kelley) Love, Sarasota, FL, stepchildren; Tracy (Donovan) Jackman, St. Paul, MN, Jenifer (Don) Gossen, Brooklyn Park, MN, Trevor Mark, Blaine, MN, ten grandchildren; Athena Love, Kevin Love, Marley Smith, Jacob Jackman, Peyton Jackman, Carter Jackman, Jada Mark, Julia Gossen, Ryan Gossen, Molly Gossen a sister, Sylvia (John) May of Wellington Canada and nephews, Ian May and David May. A memorial service will be held 11 AM, Monday, June 12 at Shellhouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Henry L. Chennault officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour before the service. A reception will be held, following the service, at the home of Jack and Katie Williams - 180 White Cedar Way, Aiken, SC 29803. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. James Bardoner for his kind and compassionate care.
