Fredrick Michael "Mickey" Blackwell

AIKEN, SC -- FREDRICK MICHAEL "MICKEY" BLACKWELL, 67, beloved father and friend, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his residence. Mickey was born on December 4, 1942 in Shelby, NC, and was a son of the late Hazel Corene Blackwell Bolick. He grew up in Green Creek, SC and worked in textiles. Survivors include two daughters; Tonya Blackwell (Roger Dean) Mundy, Aiken, SC and Christy Ann (Kevin Apple) Blackwell, Cascade, VA, a son, Michael Scott (Beth) Blackwell, Aiken, four grandchildren; Roger (Stacey) Mundy, Jr., Samuel Mundy and Emily and Holly Helms, a great-grandson, Hunter Mundy and two brothers; Dean Blackwell, Columbus, NC and Autry Blackwell, Winter Haven, FL. Preceding Mr. Blackwell in death were his mother, Hazel Corene Bolick and a grandson, Christian Bo Blackwell. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM Saturday at the daughter's residence, 662 Beaverdam Rd. A private memorial service will be held later.
