AIKEN, SC – JOHN WAYNE PAVEGLIO, 64, beloved husband of Carole Perret Paveglio, died suddenly, Friday, January 6, 2017 at his residence. A native of Walton, NY, John was a son of the late Louis Paveglio and Greta Gray Paveglio Cutting. He grew up in Masonville, NY and was a graduate of Clarkson College of Technology. He was an engineer and moved to Aiken 25 years ago to work with Stone and Webster. He then worked for BNFL, Energy Solutions and SRNS, retiring in 2011. John was very active in the Aiken community. He served on the Board of Directors of United Way where he was treasurer for many years, a former president and a former volunteer of the year. He served on boards of various other community organizations, including; Aiken Chamber of Commerce, Helping Hands, Children’s Place, Economic Development Partnership and Aiken SPCA. He served as the Capital Campaign Chair for the Aiken Center for the Arts. He was a charter member of the CNTA Board and was a devoted volunteer at the Aiken SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare. Survivors, in addition to his wife Carole, include his mother, Greta Cutting, Homosassa, FL; a sister, Karen Kisselstein (Marlin), North Syracuse, NY; a brother, Louis “Tiny” Paveglio (Maureen), Homosassa, FL. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
