Donald Lund

Aiken, SC – Mr. Donald James Lund, 65, passed away on December 30, 2016 at his residence.  He was born in Waukegan, IL on March 23, 1951.  He graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.  Don was the beloved husband of Barbara and they were married 41 happy years. Don worked as a chemist at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, IL for 40 years.  Upon his retirement, Don and Barb moved from Gurnee, IL to Aiken, SC and have enjoyed 9 years there of friendships, great weather, and traveling. Don is survived by his loving wife Barb, his brother Steve Lund, his mother-in-law Gay Bennett, sisters-in-law Pam Hicks (Rick), Becky Dickinson (Bob), and brother-in-law Jerry (Pat).  Also surviving him are many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He also leaves behind many caring relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Betty Lund. Don was a loving and generous person, always willing to help people.  He loved golfing, traveling (especially to beaches), doing crosswords, yard work, and playing games.  He had many friends and will be deeply missed by all. There will be no service.  He will be buried in Belmont, MS cemetery in a private family service at a later date.
