John Edward Guss

AIKEN - Mr. John Edward Guss, 95, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Mr. Guss was born in Mifflintown, PA, a son of the late Edward and Anna Mary Woodward Guss.  He had been a resident of Aiken since 2012.  He served in the US Army during WWII, was a carpenter, and a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, PA. John is survived by his daughter, Carolyn (Cecil) Atchley, Aiken; son, Stan (Gail) Guss, Ft. Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Stacie Bays, and Kymberly Buchanan; three great-grandchildren, Shania Bays, Thorin Bays, Lydia Buchanan; a sister, Sarah Tabb, Mifflintown, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Pannebaker Guss; two brothers, Paul E. Guss and Roy M. Guss. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery in Mifflintown, PA.
