Alvin H. Brackman

AIKEN, SC – ALVIN H. BRACKMAN, 72, died at his home on December 22, 2016. A visitation will be held Friday evening, January 6th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Saturday morning, January 7th at 10 o’clock at the old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on Park Avenue. The Mass will be followed by a private family celebration of his life at his residence. Al was born in Cincinnati, OH. He attended Purcell High School and graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Al and his wife Marsha raised three children. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and as everyone knows, he was an avid lifelong fan of his beloved Cincinnati Bengals. Al is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Ritter Brackman; three children, Gregory M. Brackman, Elizabeth A. Brackman and Catherine Brackman Davis (Gregory); four grandchildren, Maxwell DeVeaux Brackman, Amanda Grace Brackman, John Fletcher Davis and Lila Jayne Davis; a sister, Barbara Hagberg (Carl); two brothers, Theodore Brackman (Blanche), James Brackman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
