Ann Maupin Thomasson

February 25, 1935 — December 12, 2016

AIKEN – Mrs. Ann Virginia Maupin Thomasson, 81, died Monday, December 12, 2016. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, December, 15, 2016 at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church with the Reverend Grant Wiseman officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will then receive friends in the Stevenson-McClelland Building. Mrs. Thomasson was born in Waynesboro, VA, a daughter of the late Alfred and Lacy Hoover Maupin.  She was a resident of Aiken for the past 33 years, and a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church. Ann was a devoted wife and loving mother who truly valued the importance of family.  She was very proud of her grandchildren, and cherished her time with them.  A light in the world to so many, Ann was an active parishioner of her church and a dedicated friend to those who knew her.  She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Katherine “Katy” (Dale) Lipscomb, Aiken, Martha Jennifer “Jenny” (Yates) Reynolds, Columbia; sons, William Claud “Bill” (Anne) Thomasson, III, Aiken, William Richard (Kathryn) Thomasson, Charleston; grandchildren, Grace Katherine Vine, Anna Delrae Lipscomb, Elizabeth Suzanne Smith, William Claud Thomasson, IV, Brailsford “Ford” Yates Reynolds, Anne Hutton Reynolds, William Christopher Thomasson, William Henry Thomasson, John Hargett Thomasson. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Claud Thomasson, Jr., brothers Robert Wyler Maupin and Richard Lee Maupin. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, 125 Pendleton St. SW, Aiken, SC 29801.
