AIKEN, SC – LILLIAN T. “MAE” HEATH entered into rest on December 11, 2016 at 74 years of age. She was born on August 21, 1942 in Lynchburg, SC to the late J.A. and Grace Tomlinson. Mrs. Heath retired in 2002 as an elementary school teacher with 28 years of service. Mrs. Heath loved her church, Talatha Baptist Church, and was involved in WMU, teaching Sunday School, mission work, and telling Bible stories to all the young children of the church. She is now in her heavenly home with her Lord, Jesus Christ. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Oliver F. Heath, Jr, of the home; two sons, Wilton F. Heath and Thomas (Laurie) Heath of Aiken; a daughter, Mary Helen (Johnny) Cochran of Aiken; two brothers, Jimmy A. Tomlinson of Pickens, SC and W.A. (Mary Ann) Tomlinson of Lynchburg, SC; a sister, Tommye Grace (Bob) Morris of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kimberlyn (Travis) Chambers, Jordan Gaskins, Jenna Heath, and David Cochran, all of Aiken; three step-granddaughters, Allison (Mark) Shaw, Taylor Cochran and Jennah Lester. The family would like to thank the staff of U.S. Renal Care and Augusta University Medical Centers for the wonderful care Mrs. Heath received. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, December 14th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Talatha Baptist Church with The Revs. Jordan Bird and Kevin Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Talatha Baptist Church Building Fund or to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
